Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 2 driver to join our team. This role is crucial for transporting goods efficiently and safely across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills and have a solid background in commercial driving. Successful drivers will be given a full rota for 6 months. They will work 5 days out of 7, with Saturdays included in the rota, and will usually start within a couple of days of passing the assessment.

Duties

• Operate Class 2 vehicles for the transportation of goods
• Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order
• Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues
• Uphold the highest standards of customer service during interactions with clients

Routes and Workload

Routes cover Bournemouth to Cornwall and up to Cardiff from Didcot. Drivers will complete around 6 to 12 drops per shift, with double runs if required drops are businesses.

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 driving licence with a clean driving record
• A drug and alcohol test will be completed on site before the assessment
• Proven experience in commercial driving
• Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
• Start times between 3:00 am and 8:00 am
