We’re now into week 6 of lockdown and we have all had to adapt our businesses to manage the impact that coronavirus is having. One of the primary concerns for many organisations has been, and continues to be, managing a remote workforce – maintaining performance of staff and also supporting their wellbeing whilst working remotely.
According to a recent REC (Recruitment Employment Confederation)* survey virtually all employers have offered homeworking to either; all employees (51%) or some employees (46%). The world of work has changed drastically, and we have all had to adapt quickly.
Frequent and clear communication is critical for all organisations, particularly so now. Leaders of organisations have reported that they are doing the following to support their remote teams;
-
- Sending regular business updates to all staff
- Circulating information and activities which promote wellbeing whilst working from home
- Allowing staff to continue working and work more flexibly to deal with sickness in the family
- Holding virtual staff socials
